Where is this year’s event being held?
Burlington Convention Center: 1120 Burloak Dr, Burlington, ON L7L 6P8
What is the Dress Code for this event?
Our gala is cocktail attire. Guests are encouraged to wear 20’s themed attire, cocktail dresses and suits.
How long does the Gala last?
Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will begin at 5:30. With dancing after dinner, the evening will run until around 11pm.
What is the order of events for the evening?
The evening starts with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. Guests can mingle, preview and bid on Silent Auction items. At 7:00 p.m., guests proceed to their tables for a sit down dinner. Guests will be able to bid on their mobile phones from the comfort of their seats. Toward the end of dinner, the Live Auction will start, moderated by a professional auctioneer. At approximately 9:30 p.m the band will start and dancing begins! A late night buffet will be available at 10:30p.m.
What is included in the ticket price?
Your ticket includes cocktails and appetizers, tasting at the Bourbon & Bubbly Bar, sit down dinner, all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a late night buffet table.

What is The Great Safe Heist Experience?
Purchase 1 or more tickets for $25 each at the Gala. There are 600 tickets for sale and the winning ticket drawn will crack the safe leaving the winner with $3000 CASH!
What is the ‘Heads or Tails’ Experience?
Purchase 1 ticket per participant for $25 at the Gala. Once the game begins,stand, then the fun begins with a simple choice: Tap your Head or your “tail”whether you (ahem) picked the right end. The last Lady or Gent left standing wins a $3000.00 weekend Getaway to Langdon Hall!
How can I bid on a silent auction item?
We are using an online system that tracks all bids with Givergy. Viewing of all Silent Auction items is available beginning April 25th. Bidding begins at 5:30 on May 3rd. Bidding is open both SMLS Gala guests and SMLS Community members not in attendance. Access the SMLS silent auction website to preview, bid and track your status. While at the venue, you can access the website directly from your smartphone to continue bidding and following the status of your bid. The silent auction closes at 10:15p.m. Payment in full for silent auction items can be made by credit card.
How do I access the silent auction website
QR codes will be at the event as well as a link will be sent out prior to the event by the school.
What are the silent auction items?
We have an amazing selection of items, with something for everyone! Items include certificates for dinner & wine pairings, camps, gift baskets, student made artwork and sporting event tickets just to name a few. View the entire list as of April 25th.
How can I bid on a live auction item?
This auction will be by our amazing Auctioneer, Don Stweart. Anyone in the room can bid on items by simply raising your hand and getting the attention of the auctioneer. Payment in full for live auction items can be made by cheque or credit card.
What are the live auction items?
We have 12 high value live auction items which include trips to Tuscany and Whistler, a culinary and golf experience, Raptors box, a Kawai baby grand piano, front row seats to SMLS events and Head Prefect for a day and more!
Is cash accepted?
Please note this is a cashless event. Visa, Mastercard and American Express will all be accepted.
